Over recent weeks, we have welcomed some very special sentients into care, including dear WH Lily. Lily is a young ewe, who partially broke her neck while a baby, and has been lovingly cared for by her people, until recently, when they wanted her to be able to live with other friends, safe and nurtured. Lily, due to her unusual looks, had found she was rejected by other sheep. Once into care, we introduced her to our four little goats, who have accepted her as family. They are teaching her that people are a good thing, and that there is nothing to be frightened of. They are still a little hesitant to allow her to share their cubby house, but are generally being good friends to her.
WH Lily has been assessed by Dr. Paul Kavanagh, of Barwon Equine Hospital, and Paul is happy for her to live a peacful life, confident that the immense amount of scar tissue protecting her neck, will afford some protection.
Lily does need to kneel down to eat, due to her neck stiffness and twist, and need a low edged bucket for her source of water as well.
