July 2016: After evading any major health concerns and flying very much under-the-radar, WH Polly is now paddocked with new-found 'bestie' Red. The two oldies are really enjoying each others company despite what this winter is throwing at them.
March 1st 2015: Thanks to Dr. Paul Kavanagh, of Barwon Equine Hospital, for attending the sanctuary last night. Poor newbie, Welshy WH Polly, was bright, but off her feed. Temp was 39.5, heart rate 72- as suspected, after Paul's visit; most probably early peritonitis. She is being very tolerant of IV & IM antibiotics and bute paste. Thanks to Eliza Wassell too, who noted that Polly had stayed in her shelter most of the day. It so pays to be vigilant. WH Smudge also had a check up, as he arrived dehydrated, and is taking awhile to rehydrate.
2018 - Sadly, we lost dear WH Polly, after she collapsed with suspected internal issues that did not respond.
February 2015: WH Polly (taffy with blaze), is a 23yo welshie mare, who was surrendered with her buddy WH Smudge. Smudge is a 27yo Tb, and they were both surrendered in Feburuary, with Smudge being quite under weight, and Polly having a few feet issues, as well as Cushings. But are doing very well now!
