July 2018: WH Ruby was adopted to our beautiful 'adopted daughter' Vanessa. Sadly, poor Ruby died suddenly in the paddock, next to her bestie, WH Zeus. The cause was not established.
Feb 8th 2015: WH Ruby is doing well - our newest volunteer, Carley, is starting to work with Rubes, and they both get along together beautifully. Ruby is showing signs, when under saddle, that she is uncomfortable again - on intake, her near shoulder, and back were very stiff, and needed low level laser acupuncture and massage. We will get our vet to check her out this week, and a massage with Karlee Nyhof will also be on the list.
March 24th 2016: Delighted to say that we have chatted with Ruby's person of two people ago, if that makes sense, and have a lot more information relevent to her training and behaviour. Piecing the puzzle together, so we can help her on her journey. In the meantime, Ruby recently received (and really enjoyed) some wonderful treatment from Adam Canning, low-level laser therapist, of The Wellness Clinic (Ormond St. Geelong)
March 22nd 2014: Here is dear WH Ruby, our new rescue; not our usual skinny equine, but very much in need of a new start. Welcome beautiful lady! Ruby was purchased by previous owner, as ridden; however, when lunged, she almost 'scrambles' with her front legs, shakes head and rears right up. This is coupled with flinching of her shoulder if touched, at times. Our first thoughts are that it may well be pain related. No record of falls in the paddock, but we have a low level acumpunture therapist attending on Monday, so he will be first assessor. She only exhibits such behaviour on the lunge apparently. She appeared fine in the yard today, though a little shirt in step on left front leg. Depending on what acupuncturist finds, we will then book masseuse &/or chiropractor. Ruby will be treated for ulcers as well. Lovely, lovely girl though.
