March 17th 2016: WH Zeus all blinged up with dear Vanessa Raniolo's 18th birthday pressies!Zeus is loving the attention from Ness, and the two seem to be partnering up beautifully. The trick is getting him to stop following long enough to snap a photo!
January 26th 2016: With photo credits to Eliza Wassell & Jadae Bischof, here are some more photos of the gorgeous bond that WH Zeus & dear Vanessa Raniolo are forming. Hard to believe that less than a year ago, this dear boy was skin and bone.
August 25th 2015: WH Zeus enjoying having free access to the track- waiting on breakfast this morning!
August 15th: Jadae rode WH Zeus in the roundyard today- his first ride since arrival and rehabilitation. He went really well!
June 23rd 2015: Before and after (10 weeks in care) photos of dear big boy, WH Zeus, who we think is our first true 'poor doer' TB in care. His weight gain has been slower than we are accustomed to, but he is getting there. He was extremely underweight at intake, and has made much progress.
June 2nd 2015: Benita also assessed and filed both WH Keanu & Zeus's teeth. Keanu had never had his teeth done before, & though Zeus was still racing only 7 mths ago, the state of his teeth indicate his teeth had not been attended to for a very long time.
May 30th 2015: The new boys, WH Zeus and Keanu, have got through their initial worming period - (5 day Panacur, followed by Equest two weeks later) well, with no visible sign of worms in Keanu's (the boy who had a very high worm count before intake) manure, which is a relief.
25th May 2015: Zeus is a 9yo retired TB(last raced in november) who was surrenderd in mid April with WH Keanu in appalling condtion, and is slowly gaining weight and once he has regaind weight and health he will be re-trained.
April 19th 2015: Then the 2 new skinny boys, WH Zeus & Keanu, arrived, and very quickly were given brand new lightweight winter rugs , thanks to one of our volunteers, and donation by local lady Edwina! They are going so well, with feet trimmed on Day One, and re-feeding is progressing well. As they came form the same property, they are able to do quarantine together, which helps them emotionally of course.
